I came to Denver in 1981 with a business degree to work in the petroleum industry as it began to shrink severely. After several years I found an opportunity that allowed me to stay in Denver and it turned into much more than that.
A financial services and insurance practice offered a promising business model, and with me more suited to 'relationship management' than to selling products, Northwestern Mutual's professional training and personal needs counseling approach made a lot of sense, and it still does.
Before starting a family, I spent several years pursuing additional credentials and professional designations including Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), an extensive level of studies in the life insurance profession; Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), extensive education for financial solutions professionals; and Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a distinction for financial planners rooted in education, examination, experience and ethics. I have also completed studies as a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) and Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL).
The fact remains, nothing happens until somebody sells something, so I have resolved to sell people on their own goals and values. I have learned that if you will focus more on what you want, rather than what you want right now -and if you help enough other people get what they want - everything will work out for you.
At 20+ years I am leveraging my time through technology and teamwork, matching combinations of expertise, capacity, and manpower with client needs.
By seeking favorable introductions as my primary marketing strategy, I can commit more time and resources to every client, so please tell me at every opportunity about the people you respect and admire most, and give them a chance to say yes or no. Enjoy introducing someone you trust and respect to someone you respect and care about. If anything happens, it will only be good!
